1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how StackHub ("we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit and interact with our website at https://www.stackhublabs.com ("Platform").
This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy at https://www.stackhublabs.com/legal/privacy, which provides broader information about how we handle your personal data.
By continuing to use our Platform, you consent to the use of cookies as described in this policy.
2. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, smartphone, or tablet) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work correctly, work more efficiently, and to provide information to website owners.
Similar technologies include:
- Local Storage — browser-based storage used to remember your preferences and session state
- Session Storage — temporary storage cleared when you close your browser
- Tracking pixels — small invisible elements used to understand user behaviour
We refer to all of these collectively as "cookies" throughout this policy.
3. Cookies We Use
3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the Platform to function. They cannot be disabled as the Platform cannot operate properly without them.
| Cookie / Technology | Purpose | Provider | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Supabase Auth Session | Keeps you logged in to your account | Supabase | Session / 7 days |
| CSRF Token | Protects against cross-site request forgery attacks | StackHub | Session |
| Cart State | Remembers items in your cart between visits | StackHub (Local Storage) | Until cleared |
These cookies do not collect any personally identifiable information beyond what is necessary to maintain your session.
3.2 Analytics Cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors use our Platform — which pages are visited most, where users drop off before purchasing, and how features are used. This helps us improve the Platform for all users.
| Cookie / Technology | Purpose | Provider | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
PostHog (ph_*) | Product analytics — page views, feature usage, conversion tracking | PostHog Inc. | Up to 1 year |
What PostHog collects:
- Pages you visit on StackHub
- Features you interact with (search, filters, cart, checkout)
- General device and browser type
- Approximate location (country/city level only — not precise GPS)
- Whether you are a new or returning visitor
What PostHog does NOT collect:
- Your name or email address (unless you are signed in, in which case only an anonymised user ID is associated)
- Your payment details
- Your exact location
PostHog's data is used solely to improve StackHub's product and user experience. We do not share PostHog data with any advertising networks.
PostHog's Privacy Policy is available at: https://posthog.com/privacy
3.3 Error Tracking
These technologies help us detect and fix technical errors on the Platform automatically.
| Cookie / Technology | Purpose | Provider | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
Sentry (sentry-*) | Captures technical errors and performance issues anonymously | Sentry Inc. | Session |
Sentry does not collect personally identifiable information. Error reports contain technical data only (error type, stack trace, browser/device type).
Sentry's Privacy Policy is available at: https://sentry.io/privacy/
3.4 Advertising Cookies
We do not use any advertising cookies. StackHub does not run retargeting campaigns, does not use Facebook Pixel, Google Ads remarketing, or any other advertising tracking technology. Your browsing activity on our Platform is never shared with advertisers.
4. Your Choices and Opt-Out Options
4.1 Analytics Opt-Out (PostHog)
You can opt out of PostHog analytics tracking at any time by clicking the button below. When you opt out, no analytics data will be collected from your browser during future visits.
4.2 Browser Settings
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Each browser handles this differently:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Please note that disabling strictly necessary cookies (Section 3.1) will prevent you from logging in or using certain features of the Platform.
4.3 Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Currently, there is no industry-wide standard for responding to DNT signals. We acknowledge DNT signals but our Platform does not alter its behaviour in response to them at this time.
5. Third-Party Cookies
Beyond the services listed in Section 3, our Platform may occasionally embed content from third-party services such as YouTube (for demo video embeds). These third parties may set their own cookies subject to their own privacy policies. We have no control over third-party cookies.
If you prefer not to receive third-party cookies from embedded content, you may adjust your browser settings as described in Section 4.2.
6. Updates to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time as our technology, legal obligations, or services change. We will notify registered users of material changes via email and update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
